BABY PHOTOGRAPHY

Relaxed and natural baby photography

Babies can change a lot in that first year. From first smiles, to giggles and then later to sitting up and then taking those first steps. Each stage is full of joy and wonder; and little things can spark amazement in little people. A wooden spoon becomes a drum stick and a scarf perfect for playing peekaboo. Swinging between Mummy and Daddy could go on for hours and tickles from a big sister are the best in the world.

Every developmental stage is different and you can choose which age you would like documented or have a series of photography sessions in the first year. We can explore the places that capture the imagination of your little ones and go on an adventure together.

How it works

I like to capture families at home and in their favourite outdoor spaces. This is because I believe that if the whole family feels at ease, genuine smiles occur naturally.

I start my photography sessions early as I tend to find that morning is the best time to capture babies (before they have had a nap and when they are typically full or energy).

There is no time pressure and we can take breaks for nappy changes and snacks as required. We can also work around the weather to ensure we are making the best use of the available light.

When to book

I can offer photography sessions at a particular age or multiple sessions within the first year. As babies can change and grow so quickly, each photo shoot will have different results and it is really down to personal choice.

For newborn photography, within the first 2 weeks is ideal. It is a truly magical time and your baby will only be so small once.

She is friendly, patient, calm and takes everything in her stride. We have used Clare a few times and each time she has managed to get some excellent shots of us all and really lovely photos of our boys.

4 Months +

From four months, first smiles and tummy time show your baby starting to become more aware of the world and the people around them. Let me know and we can discuss the different options.

9 Months +

At nine months your child will be a sitting up but not necessarily sitting still. They will be trying to understand how everything works. Crawling, climbing and attempting to walk whenever possible.

12 Months +

On their first birthday, you will have a clear idea of what your child likes and dislikes; their favourite toys, animals or places. They may have a closer relationship with siblings now that they have become more independent.

If you have something specific in mind, or are unsure which age you would like documented, then please let me know and we can discuss the different options.

I would highly recommend Clare, her natural shots of the children are beautiful. We will certainly be asking her to take photos again in the future.
