Newborn Baby Photography in Bexley, London

Zoe and Chris wanted some natural photos of their newborn, Max. Unique pictures in their own home that documented family life as it unfolded with no time pressure.  They were able to stick to normal routines which was important for their toddler, Charlotte, and we took breaks for feeds and snacks throughout the morning.

This is one of my personal favourites from our family photography session. I like the clear background and its neutral colour, it contrasts with the darker features of the subjects and Chris’s top. The soft window light illuminates Max as he gazes at the viewer and the contrasts created by both the lighting and the colours create a dramatic feel.

This chair features in several of the photos from our family photo shoot - it was huge and spins around (it doesn’t get better than that!) Every family member was drawn to it’s comfort and the natural light that filtered through the shutters behind it. I hope that they will look back at these photos with fond memories of the cuddles they had on it; both during our photo shoot but also over the years as they make more memories together. Including it in their newborn photography session was part of telling their family story.

Whilst Max slept for most of the session, when he was awake he gave us this beautiful yawn. A fleeting moment that I was glad to capture and which makes me feel sleepy just looking at it. It’s not what you would consider to be a typical photo of a newborn but I just love it.
