Newborn Baby Photography in Kings Hill, Kent

When Hannah asked to me capture her beautiful new arrival Florence, I was delighted to be able to offer natural in-home newborn photography. Hannah was looking for something a bit different; no elaborate props or blankets - documentary style photography that would show how tiny Florence once was but also portray her relationship with the whole family at such a special time.

It was raining on the day of the family photo shoot which meant that we based ourselves inside for the entirety of the session. I loved exploring Hannah and James’s beautiful home and seeing how each room offered slightly different lighting and possibilities for creative photography. The quirky handcrafted wall decor and superhero-themed playroom were an important part of telling their family story and as the children grow up these photos will transport them back to that stage in their childhood, evoking fond memories.

As you can see from the photos, Jude was hugely excited to become a big brother and felt so proud to be holding his little sister. He also enjoyed showing me his favourite toys and his Playmobil airplane in particular. Spending the whole morning with the family meant there was no time pressure and I could capture those in-between moments.
